Thurman's Place The Right Paw Program
Children are sent to kindergarten to start their educational career off “on the right foot” The same can be true for puppies.

They too need a foundation for future development. Kindergarten is where children are introduced to what is expected of them in school and gain fundamental knowledge.

Children are taught what is acceptable behavior such as sharing, listening, raising ones’ hand, and standing in line. Children use what they are taught in kindergarten for the rest of their learning career.

This isn’t to say they aren’t faced with some hurdles along the way during the course of their future education. The same goes for puppies and what they are taught in this program will benefit them for the rest of their lives.

Puppies between 8-20 weeks in age have so much to absorb when they meet their new world. Everything they encounter is new to them, including places, people, sounds and smells. We as humans expect our puppies to abide by our rules, but first they need to know that the rules even exist! It is our responsibility to teach our puppies what is expected of them.
